What is WOTC?
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federally funded program that provides tax credits to private sector businesses that hire individuals from targeted groups of disadvantaged, unemployed workers. Participating employers that hire qualified individuals will receive a tax credits cutting their tax liability on a dollar for dollar basis.
